As a child, K.M. began drawing as early as she can remember. Originally left-handed, but when a grade school aide told her it was wrong, she became a right-handed artist. She still does many things left-handed which has made giving directions to others difficult ever since.
K.M. graduated from Southern Oregon University with a BS in Art. Go on, laugh. It’s funny and is apparently what happens when you study a mix of Art, History, and Psychology… You get a lot of BS or something.
Since graduating, K.M. has been honing her skills as an artist and as a writer to give life to the stories that keep her awake all night long. Her drawing style is influenced by the many dark and often psychologically disturbing Japanese and American animation she watched as a child. She also draws inspiration from ancient cultures, fairy tales, and the natural beauty of the world.
K.M. is happily living in her Pacific Northwest home with her husband and five cats. She is currently working fulltime as a customer service manager by day and focusing on the comic at night. It is her dream to share her art with others in the hopes of leaving this planet in a better state than when she arrived.
Psycho-analyze that mess!

Sealed Within is an elemental focused fantasy comic about healing and finding yourself. The comic is rated PG-13 for violence, language, and blood.
The first version of Sealed Within was nothing more than a gathering of comedic non sequitur stories involving an ensemble cast of characters, each representing an element. Nearly every day, K.M. would share these goofy comics with friends during the high school lunch break and enjoyed the laughter it brought them. As she made her way through college, the characters stuck with her and begged to have their story told. She began drawing the first “real story” version with excitement… Then Avatar the Last Airbender came out and she was devastated.
Once the show was finished, K.M. realized the two were not so similar and began drawing again with renewed vigor… Then Legend of Korra was released, and that sinking feeling returned. Luckily, it was nothing like what she had planned for her own story, so she cautiously jumped back on her bandwagon… And then life and depression knocked her off the wagon and face first into the dirt.
The story that was once a source of joy for her grew quiet, almost to the point of fading away forever. It wasn’t until she was healthy again that the old voices of her childhood characters came back to her and once again asked to have their story told.
For K.M., Sealed Within is a story about characters that refused to fade away. Everything she has learned and experienced—be it through art, psychology, or just life in general, she has poured into this story. From the bottom of her heart, she hopes you enjoy this labor of blood, sweat, tears, but most importantly: love. Here is the comic that she calls “Sealed Within”.
Below are a few images of the earlier versions of the comic so you can see how much it’s evolved over the years.
